Crockpot Cooking
Crockpot cooking can make life easy for someone that works, but still has to have dinner ready after work. They also work great for slow cooking items that don't respond well to high heat and they also save energy. You don't have to heat up the oven to make a meal. There is nothing better than coming home on a cold winter night, and having a warm crockpot full of stew or soup ready to eat.

Instructions
- In a skillet, cook onions and garlic in 2 Tbs. oil till onions are yellow. Add hamburger and cook till browned. Stir in chili powder and optional cumin; cook 2 minutes more. Once hamburger mixture is browned through, add it to the crockpot. Meanwhile, in crockpot, combine remaining ingredients. Stir in browned meat mixture. Cover and cook on Low setting for 8-10 hours. To serve: ladle chili into bowls. Top with optional shredded cheese and/or sour cream, if desired.
- Note: This can be made on top of the stove, too. Let it cook for 1 hour, but stir, so it doesn't stick to the bottom.
